Description

IV Extractors are specialized tools that harvest perfect Individual Values (IVs) from Pokémon and convert them into IV Candies. When used on a Pokémon, they extract all stats with maximum IVs (31) and create corresponding candies, while reducing those IVs back to 1.

Core Concepts

Extraction Process

IV Extractors work by analyzing a Pokémon’s IVs and extracting only the perfect stats (those with a value of 31). Each extracted IV becomes an IV Candy that can be used on other compatible Pokémon.

Process Step Description Effect
🔍 IV Analysis Scans the target Pokémon for perfect IVs (31) Identifies all stats at maximum value
⚡ Extraction Removes perfect IVs from the Pokémon Reduces extracted IVs to 1
🍬 Candy Creation Converts extracted IVs into candies Creates targeted IV candies for each extracted stat
📦 Inventory Addition Adds created candies to player inventory Provides immediately usable IV enhancement items

Important Notes:

  • Species Shards cannot be used - only Elemental Type and Special Category shards work

  • Dual-Type Support: Pokémon with matching primary OR secondary type are compatible

Special Category Extractors

  • Legendary Extractor: Only works on Legendary Pokémon
  • Mythical Extractor: Only works on Mythical Pokémon
  • Ultra Beast Extractor: Only works on Ultra Beast Pokémon

Extraction Results

What Gets Extracted

  • Perfect IVs Only: Only stats with IV value of 31 are extracted
  • Multiple Stats: All perfect IVs are extracted in a single use
  • Stat Reduction: Extracted IVs are reduced to 1 (minimum value)

Candy Creation

  • One Candy Per Stat: Each extracted perfect IV creates one targeted candy
  • Candy Type Inheritance: Created candies match the extractor’s type
  • Immediate Availability: Candies are added directly to inventory

Example Extraction Scenarios

Before Extraction After Extraction Candies Created
HP: 31, ATK: 25, DEF: 31 HP: 1, ATK: 25, DEF: 1 HP Candy + Defense Candy
All stats at 31 All stats at 1 6 Candies (HP, ATK, DEF, SPA, SPD, SPE)
No perfect IVs No change No extraction possible

Strategic Uses

IV Redistribution

  • Perfect Pokémon Harvesting: Extract IVs from perfectly trained Pokémon
  • IV Banking: Store perfect IVs as portable candies
  • Team Optimization: Transfer IVs between team members

Breeding Optimization

  • Parent Preparation: Extract IVs before breeding to reset for new combinations
  • Legacy Management: Preserve perfect IVs from retired competitive Pokémon
  • Resource Cycling: Convert unused perfect Pokémon into usable enhancement items

Competitive Applications

  • Meta Adaptation: Quickly redistribute IVs when strategy changes
  • Specialist Training: Extract from type specialists to train diverse teams
  • Emergency Reallocation: Rapidly adjust team stats for unexpected matchups

Tips and Best Practices

Efficient Extraction

  • Target Perfect Pokémon: Focus on Pokémon with multiple perfect IVs
  • Type Matching: Use appropriate extractor types for maximum compatibility
  • Inventory Management: Ensure sufficient inventory space before extraction

Strategic Considerations

  • Irreversible Process: Extraction permanently reduces the source Pokémon’s IVs
  • Candy Value: Created candies are often more valuable than the source IVs
  • Timing Matters: Extract before releasing or storing Pokémon permanently

Resource Management

  • Rare Extractors: Save Legendary/Mythical extractors for high-value targets
  • Common Extractors: Use Elemental extractors for regular IV redistribution
  • Extraction Planning: Consider which Pokémon benefit most from specific IV types
